To Wilfred
To Wilfred
(Christmas 1947)
by George Albert Leddy
A Merry Christmas, filled with cheer; followed by a glad New Year.
Lots of whiskey, plenty of beer; put your troubles in the rear,
That's the way, we hope 'twill be, for you old Pal, as well as we.
A Merry Christmas, bright and gay; to end the year, that's passed away.
A Happy New Year, to begin, the months we hope, that God will send—
His blessings down, upon our land, to make the whole world, understand;
That what we want, is Love not Sin; and Peace on Earth; Goodwill to Men.
